The project of the 'Triple A' team, made up of Ángela Santos Rodríguez, Aitor Álvarez Peláez and Andrea García Navarro, was considered by the jury as the best in the online final that took place this morning.

With applause, laughter and great emotion. This is how the decision of the jury of the environmental entrepreneurship school contest 'Emprende por el Clima', which took place throughout the morning today, was received online. First, the jury weighed the merits of the winning team, highlighting its viability and positive impact on society. They hadn't announced the winner yet, but the team already knew they were talking about their work. When the name was finally announced,"'Triple A', from the Colegio San Fernando de Avilés", the joy overflowed.

Ángela, Aitor and Andrea's was one of the ten projects from schools from different parts of Spain that participated in the final. Together with them, two other teams from the School, adding three from the same class: 3rd ESO B. They were 'Rubberme', made up of Raquel Fernández Aza, Sofía Quiroga Peregrina and Julio Díaz Fernández; and 'Friends of Nature', created by Ana García Poncela, Adriana Llorente García, Laura Santos García and Noa González Manzanal.

The activity began as soon as they arrived at the School, with the last rehearsals and technical tests. Shortly after ten o'clock, the general director of the Junior Achievement Foundation (organizing institution of this event, which is now in its seventh edition), gave a virtual welcome to the participants and began the first round of presentations, in which the three Avilesian teams. Each group had five minutes to present their project. After the break and the second round of presentations, while the jury deliberated, the participants enjoyed various games, holding their nerves until the awards ceremony, which began around half past twelve. It wasn't until almost one o'clock when the jury named the 'Triple A' project as the winner. Two teams from Colegio Santa Ana de Calatayud (Zaragoza), 'Clean Komin' and 'Greenjoi-Sport', completed the virtual podium.

More than 3.600 students from 78 schools in 35 Spanish provinces participated in this edition of 'Emprende por el Clima', presenting 496 entrepreneurial projects. These figures give an idea of ​​the level of the contest and the work carried out by the students of the School San Fernando, accompanied in this experience by Professor Celia del Cueto. Five of our teams made it to the TOP 20, with three qualifying for the final 10. To do this, once their idea was presented, they had to create a canvas model and a promotional video of the project, which served as the basis for the selection of the finalists. .

The 'Triple A' project consisted of manufacturing lampposts with a sensor, so that they would only light up when a person passed by. The goal: reduce electricity consumption. The streetlights would be placed in the less traveled streets, where they are usually always on without being really necessary.
