The blue tide wins in four of the five categories, adds seven podiums and qualifies the same teams for the final.

This Sunday the zonal Sports Games of the Principality of team chess was held at the Santo Tomás school. Our athletes made up 13 of the 22 participating teams, but this number, contrary to its jinxed reputation, has brought luck to our representatives.

In the youngest category, Sanfer A, made up of Rafael Serrano, Laura Peláez, Hugo Justo, Nicolás Pulido and Jimena de Godos, brilliantly won gold, winning all the matches. The silver went to Sanfer B, who fielded Jaime Fernandez, Nicolás Justo, Biel Pizarro and Guillermo González (who won all their matches). A lot of merit for this position, because they knew how to recover from a defeat in the first round. The podium was completed by another of our teams, Sanfer E, which included the participation of Leire Baranda, Marina Ruiz, Alba Sánchez and Pelayo Fuentes.

The second gold of the afternoon went to the members of Sanfer Alevín E, Luis Ávila, Gunnar Villanueva, Álvaro Díaz de la Noval, Yago Ibáñez and Alicia Arribas. A draw in the second round endangered their options, but they fostered a well-deserved 4-0 victory over their direct rivals, Santo Tomás, who ultimately finished second. The third step of the podium went to the Sanfer C of Sergio López, Jorge Alvera, Juan Jesús Serrano, Teo da Gama and Miguel Fernandez Niño.

The children's Sanfer also achieved victory in their duel with Paula Frassinetti and Lucas Alonso, Alex Labra and Pelayo Blanco hung the gold in the category. Like the cadets, who in this case prevailed over Santo Tomás. The gold medals went to Rodrigo González Martino, Daniela Bernardo and Claudia Arribas, who hold the record for having qualified for all the finals in all the zones they have played.

In summary, four golds, one silver and two bronzes that show that the Sanfer academy continues to generate great talents for the board. Now let's all train during the breaks ahead of the final that will be held at the Corredoria Arena on March 26.
