The younger students followed with great interest the readings and storytelling prepared by their 'older' classmates.

The faces of interest, excitement and excitement shown by the children of 3 years of Early Childhood Education this morning in the library of the School are the best summary of the day dedicated to the Day of the Book. Days after the official celebration, students of different levels carried out today diverse activities in which the stories played a fundamental role. And the first one was directed to the 'little ones' of 3 years, a storyteller starring the members of the School's Reading Club, students of 1º International Baccalaureate who staged for children the story 'The sheep and the wolf' . The interpreters were the students Pablo Suárez Menéndez, Estela Villanueva and Sara Lázaro, along with the teacher Paula Claros, coordinator of the Diploma Program and one of the persons in charge of the Club.

The children followed closely the staging of the story, which tells the beautiful story of friendship that arises between a hungry wolf and the sheep that was going to eat. After attending the storytelling, which they signed with great applause, the children completed the activity in their respective classrooms, coloring some cards with the protagonists of the narration. The students of the Reading Club accompanied them and helped in this task, and the works will be exhibited in the library. This activity coincides with one of the lines of the unit of inquiry that children are doing these days, which is entitled 'The feelings and emotions that we produce stories'.

Also in the morning, the students of 1º of ESO C and D made a literary route through the streets of Avilés in the company of their teachers Alma Carcedo and Marina Peña. The young people knew the literary names behind some streets, such as Ana de Valle, Palacio Valdés, Bances Cadamo, Marcos del Torniello, etc.

In the afternoon it was the turn of the students of 1º and 2º of Primary Education, who read in their respective classrooms two stories to their classmates from 4 and 5 years of Early Childhood Education: 1º A interpreted 'Robin Hood', 1º B 'Guess how much I love you, 1º C and D 'The three little pigs', 2º A 'The flute player of Hamelin', 2º B and D 'I already know how to count' and 2º C 'A ferocious dragon'. Seniors and little ones had a great time and shared some very nice minutes around literature.

Another very fun initiative was the performance that 5 students offered to their 3 classmates on the stage of the Early Childhood Theater. The 'elders' interpreted the songs that the Lord Scholar has taught them this course. You can see the gallery of images here.

It was, in short, a different day, fun and with a great goal: to spread among children a taste for reading.
